How To Apply Nemaslug Slug Killer:
- Apply Nemaslug to moist soil.
- The soil temperature should be 5ºC (40ºF) or over (this is also when plants start to grow). Nematodes are capable of surviving the odd frost; so don't worry if the temperature falls after you have applied Nemaslug. Metaldehyde based slug pellets are reported not to be effective below 7ºC.
- Use entire packet of nematodes at one time and do not store part used packs or made up solution.
- Nematodes are easy to apply simply as a drench. All you need is a watering can with a coarse rose or a recommended hose end feeder. A standard pack takes approximately 20 minutes to apply.
- Once mixed with water, apply immediately, making sure they are applied to the soil. Wash any nematodes off the leaves using more water.
- Make sure your soil does not dry out after applying nematodes.

Watering can method.
- Shake the pack well
- Cut carefully through the top of the pack and divide the powder (which contains the nematodes) in to the number of portions indicated on the pack. (Some nematodes may be stuck on the top of the pack - dont waste them)
- Put one portion in a 2 gallon/5 litre watering can and add water.
- Stir as you add the water to make sure the nematodes are well mixed.
- Apply the solution to the area to be treated (as per the pack).
- Apply an equal amount of water to the same area to make sure the nematodes are well washed in.
To apply with a pump sprayer
- Shake the pack well.
- Cut carefully through the top of the pack and divide the powder (which contains the nematodes) in to the number of portions indicated on the pack.
- Put one portion in a pump sprayer and fill up with water.
- Apply the solution to the plants to be treated (as per the pack), making sure you apply directly to hit the target pest.
Storing your nematodes:
Keep the sealed pack in the fridge so they remain inactive, ensuring their good health until you need them.
Nematodes will keep up to the expiry date, clearly marked on each sealed pack, when kept refrigerated.
They are perishable so you should not open the pack before you intend to use it.
It is always best to use living products as soon as possible after receipt.

Instructions for the Miracle-Gro garden hose feeder application of Nemasys and Nemaslug Nematodes
These instructions are applicable to all pack sizes up to 100m2 in the Nemasys Home & Garden range (excl Nemasys Vine Weevil Killer 12m2 pack and Nemasys Caterpillar and Codling Moth Killer and Nemasys Grow Your Own).
Please note the different application timings in point 4. when applying to lawns.
- Wash the feeder through with water to ensure it is clean.
- Add entire contents of the pack to the bowl of the feeder. Then fill the bowl with water and stir to mix thoroughly. Attach the hose.
- Taking care to keep the feeder in an upright position, apply evenly to the whole of the area for a timed period, using a side-to-side motion to keep the nematodes well mixed. During this time most of the nematodes will have been applied.
- Variable spray Miracle-Gro Feeder with spray set to ‘flat’ – for 5 minutes
- Fixed spray Miracle-Gro Feeder – for 8 minutes
- Treat the same area again for a further 8 minutes (or 16 minutes for lawn applications) to apply the remaining nematodes as well as to make sure they are adequately watered in. Applications to lawns require more water to ensure the nematodes are washed through the grass thatch.
- Adhering strictly to the application timings will ensure that any remaining colour in the bowl will be due to inert carrier only and that you have performed an even application.
- This new method provides a simple and effective application, however, it is important to follow the instructions exactly to obtain even coverage.
- Only the Miracle-Gro® Feeder feeder is recommended for use with this method;

Instructions for Superspray garden hose feeder application of Nemaslug
These instructions only apply to Nemaslug 40m2 and 100m2 in the Nemasys Home &
Garden range.
- Wash the feeder through with water to ensure it is clean.
- Add half the contents of the 40m2 pack or a quarter of the 100m2 pack to the bowl
of the feeder. Then fill the bowl with water and stir to mix thoroughly. Attach the
hose.
- Apply evenly to the area to be treated using a side-to-side motion to keep the
nematodes well mixed. This should take about 5 minutes, depending upon water
pressure.
- Repeat these steps on the other areas of ground to be treated using the remaining
portions of the Nemaslug pack
- Treat the same area again for a further 10 minutes (or 16 minutes for lawn
applications) to make sure they are adequately watered in. Applications to lawns
require more water to ensure the nematodes are washed through the grass thatch.
- This method provides a simple and effective application, however, it is important to
follow the instructions exactly to ensure the nematodes reach the pests.
